Patients with KS / HH normally require life-long hormone replacement therapy (HRT).

Initially HRT can produce most, but not all, the normal secondary sexual characteristics that develop during puberty.

Standard HRT will not make either male or female KS / HH patients fertile in most cases but there are exceptions.

HRT is then normally required life-long to maintain quality of life and to help prevent conditions such as osteoporosis or type II diabetes.

There are many different types of HRT available for both males and females with the main aim of maintaining normal levels of testosterone or oestrogen / progesterone.
